The Maze

Can you find your way? Entertain your children with a stroll through our labyrinth and enjoy the view. This is a great way to illustrate how some children in the 17th and 18th centuries would have fun if they lived on an estate with a maze. Kids love to try and find their way through the maze and it is a wonderful activity for the whole family. Our horticultural maze at Magnolia replicates the famous maze at Hampton Court in England designed by King Henry VIII and is made up of nearly 14 miles of intricate pathways. However, instead of using traditional boxwood to make the maze, it has been created using more than 500 Camellia sasanqua and interspersed with Burford holly.
