Interested in having the "Complete Plantation Experience" with your next event, celebration or corporate retreat? Magnolia Plantation has been the home to many "Premiere Events" by many of Charleston's most renown caterers and planners. Evening and daytime functions offer the reception use of our Carriage House, Picnic Grounds, and a designated tent area. The historic and lovely Plantation House Verandah can be used to accommodate evening functions.

EVENT SITES

The Carriage House

The Carriage House is a 3,954 sq. ft., climate-controlled facility affording exceptional views of the historic Ashley River with a capacity of 150 to 175 guests for seated dining. The outside porch offers guests a chance to relax by the outdoor fire pit or venture out onto the deck overlooking the Ashley River. Buffet or hors d’oeuvre arrangements may permit 200+. Catering kitchen and restrooms are on-site. Rental fee includes 5 60" round tables, 5 64" round tables, 80 white padded folding chairs, and 80 mahogony padded folding chairs. Both day and evening rentals are permitted at this reception facility year round.

Plantation House Verandah

The 20 foot wide Plantation House Verandah fully surrounds the home and will comfortably seat 150 diners. Buffet or hors d’oeuvre arrangements may permit a larger number of guests. Access to the interior of the home is not included. Guests may use the restroom facilities located in a nearby building. A small catering sink is located in a rear corner of the verandah and there is 110 volt AC power available. The Verandah is available for evening events beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Conservatory

Home to exotic tropical flora, this intimate indoor Conservatory and its outdoor deck overlooks Schoolhouse Pond and its famous Red Bridge.  Grand cypress trees surround the deck, which opens into the Conservatory through large French doors.  Here you will treat yourself and your guests to a truly romantic and exotic experience.  There is room for 50 people for cocktails on the deck and seating for 75 at teak tables inside, where a winding path allows for a stroll through the tropical gardens.

You will need to contract with a caterer and/or a Reception/planner as we provide only the location. We do not staff or cater events, so you will want to make sure you have the best guidance to take care of your special day. You will also need to make arrangements for additional table and chair rentals.
