In the Gardens: January

Below-freezing temperatures this winter didn’t wipe out the color here at Magnolia. Visit to see these flowering plants:

  • Azalea

  • Pansy

  • Winter honeysuckle

  • Paperbush

  • Snapdragon

  • Sasanqua Camellia

  • Flowering apricot

For our horticulture team, the winter is our version of spring cleaning. We’ve been hard at work getting the gardens cleaned up and prepped for the gorgeous spring season.

Over the course of several weeks, we made some significant progress. Our team cleared branch debris, unwanted seedling tree species, and removed vines. These are all important tasks this time of year.

Now we turn our attention to fine-tuning our new spring displays. These plants will be in the ground by mid-February – just in time for spring’s arrival.
