June Magnolia Blooms
The summer heat ushers in new blooms in June. This month, chaste trees send up purple flower spikes loved by butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Fragrant ginger lilies perfume the air with intoxicating scents. Different colors of hibiscus flowers add a tropical touch to the garden. The American beautyberry- a native favorite- produces bushels of purple berries that are a delicious treat for songbirds. Southern magnolias, gardenias, and mophead hydrangeas all continue their bloom.
Use the Magnolia Blooms Station as inspiration and see how many of these vibrant blossoms you can find in our gardens!
