Exciting News from the Nest: Our Baby Peacocks Have Hatched!
Last month, we shared the exciting story of our very first attempt at incubating peacock eggs. Today, we are thrilled to officially announce that the wait is over—we have welcomed Kevin and Azul, two beautiful baby peachicks, to the Magnolia Plantation & Gardens family!
Their successful hatch marks a special milestone for our Wildlife Center staff, and it has been an absolute joy watching these tiny birds begin their journey here in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dedicated Wildlife Care Behind the Scenes
For now, our new peachicks are spending their days in a quiet, climate-controlled space behind the scenes. Our staff is providing care, specialized nutrition, and careful monitoring to ensure they grow healthy and strong. Because peachicks are extremely small and delicate during their first few weeks, they are not quite ready to meet visitors just yet.
We are hard at work preparing a safe, comfortable habitat for them. While they aren't on public view today, we look forward to introducing them to you in the near future as they continue to mature!
Experience Wildlife & Nature at Magnolia Plantation
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is famous for its roaming peacocks, historic gardens, and rich local wildlife. The arrival of these two peachicks highlights our ongoing commitment to animal care, conservation, and memorable nature experiences for visitors of all ages.
The Magnolia family just got a little bigger, and we can’t wait for you to experience all the natural beauty our historic grounds have to offer!
