Bartel Visser

After serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Visser started his 50 year career in the Landscape Design/Build Industry on Long Island, New York. He grew up in a family of Nurserymen, but was attracted more to the "artistic" side of Horticulture. He has been involved with the planting of everything from the smallest perennial garden to installation of plantings, hardscapes, pools, tennis courts etc. on large estates. However, some of his fondest memories are of the over 25 years he was involved with the forcing, installation and maintenance of the plants used in Macy's Flagship New York City Herald Square Flower Show! Working closely with the same people who produce the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was a special time for Visser.
