Michele Levani

Michele Levani is a Charleston-based artist with over 40 years of experience creating murals, custom artwork and interactive art experiences. Her work ranges from large-scale murals in public and commercial spaces to detailed, hand-painted pieces inspired by nature. Through her brand, The Bee Hippie & Butterfly Gypsy™️, Michele focuses on pollinators, sustainability and creating art that feels both whimsical and meaningful. Pollinators are naturally drawn to color and pattern and she encourages people to incorporate art into outdoor spaces… whether through murals, painted surfaces or garden elements. She has also created hand-painted beehives and bee hotels, combining functional elements with artistic design. In addition to her studio work, Michele leads collaborative mural experiences for businesses, universities, and community events, helping people connect through creativity. Her recent work explores miniature environments and habitat-inspired art, blending storytelling with a love for bees, butterflies and the natural world. With family roots connected to Magnolia Plantation, this project holds a special meaning for her.
