New Youth Education Programs at Magnolia

At Magnolia Plantations and Gardens, bring your curious students to wander among ancient oaks, camellias and azaleas on the banks of the Ashley River. Explore the mysterious Audubon Swamp Garden, where birds and reptiles thrive. Experience guided tours including “From Slavery to Freedom,” the Nature Train, and a behind-the-scenes look into life on the Plantation.

This year, we’re taking an even deeper dive into youth education at Magnolia! From Civil War and Charleston history, to horticulture, gardening, wetland dynamics, ornithology and ecology, engage in experiential learning with your students in ways like never before.

Groups of 15 or more are welcome at Charleston’s most visited Plantation and Gardens at a discounted rate! Admission, tours, activities and packages may be customized to suit your group’s unique needs. Each tour lasts approximately 35-45 minutes.

Bus Drivers and Tour Directors (or Lead Teachers) receive comped admission + tours. Bus drivers are welcome to accompany the group on tours – space permitting. Garden admission grants access to 66 acres of historic gardens along the Ashley River, entrance to the Wildlife Center and 6 miles of walking & biking trails, including a 1.2 mile loop around the tidal impoundment.

Boxed lunches are available to be pre-purchased for groups of any size and include bottled water & chocolate chunk cookie.
